Self Portrait

As I look at my self-portrait, I see myself staring out a window as if I'm lost in thought, gazing into the distance. The light from the courtyard outside streams in, illuminating the space and casting my figure in a soft glow. However, the foreground is darker, as I was in a poorly lit room when I created this piece.

In the painting, a small fountain is partially hidden around the corner, providing a peaceful background noise to my introspective moment. As I stare out into the courtyard, I can't help but feel a sense of yearning, as if I'm searching for something just beyond my reach.

Perhaps I'm looking outside to take in more light, both literally and figuratively. The darkness of the foreground represents the uncertainty and unknowns in my life, while the light outside symbolizes hope, clarity, and new opportunities.

The small fountain in the corner represents the beauty and serenity that can be found in even the most unexpected places. It's a reminder that even when things may seem difficult or uncertain, there's always a glimmer of hope to be found.

As I sit here and reflect on this painting, I realize that it's a reflection of my own journey. Like the self-portrait, my life has been full of ups and downs, darkness and light. But just like the light in the courtyard outside, I've always found a way to keep moving forward and searching for the beauty and hope that exists in the world.

In the end, this self-portrait is a reminder that we all have the power to seek out the light, even when things seem dark. It's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the beauty that can be found in even the most unexpected places.

When I am silent, I have thunder hidden inside.
