Asieh's Artistic Impressions: A Symphony of Colors and Emotions
Asieh is an Iranian-born artist whose work explores the intimate relationship between light, emotion, and the human experience. Her journey began at the age of 12 under the mentorship of Morteza Katouzian, the renowned Iranian realist painter known for his technical mastery and emotional depth. Over more than a decade of close study, Asieh developed a strong foundation in classical technique and an expressive, intuitive approach to painting.
Her talent was recognized early with a national award in Iran, affirming her path as a young artist with a distinct voice. After moving to the United States, she continued her education at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), expanding both her technical skill set and her creative horizons.
Influenced by the expressive realism of John Singer Sargent, the painterly approach of Richard Schmid, and the sensitive portraiture of Daniel E. Greene, Asieh’s work reflects a deep reverence for her subjects and a careful attention to light, atmosphere, and feeling.
After a period of stepping away from the canvas to reflect and reset, Asieh returned to painting with renewed clarity and purpose. This time of introspection deepened her connection to her craft and brought new depth to her work.
Today, Asieh works in oil, pastel, and watercolor, using each medium to explore different facets of expression. Whether capturing a fleeting gesture or the quiet radiance of a scene, her paintings invite viewers into a space of emotion, stillness, and reflection.
Now living in Colorado with her husband and daughter, Asieh draws inspiration from both her past and present—blending classical foundations with a deeply personal view of beauty, emotion, and connection.
